I was born on March 19, and for my entire life, the number 319 has always popped up frequently. Somehow, I always manage to look at the clock at the right second; it’s 3:19 in the afternoon, or there are 3 min & 19 sec. to go on my frozen dinner, etc. I started to wonder, if I randomly select another number (say 544?) will I start to see that number? Am I seeing 319 because I’m hyper sensitive to that number and just not noticing all of the other times the same numbers (like 544) pop up, or is there something more happening that makes me see 319 all of the time?
I’m going to create a log here to see what happens.

Pulled out of the driveway. Saw 3:18pm on the clock. Deliberately looked at cellphone & dashboard clock to see 3:19pm on both.

7:30am, 2/27. exit 75s @ BGSU exit; gas prices are $3.19… on bp, speedway, bp & sunoco. this is significant to me b/c on 2/26 in the evening the gas prices were $3.17, and in perrysburg & other locales, i’d seen other prices. that this am the price is back to $3.19 is notable.

there & back.
$3.19 at the Shamrock Gas Station on Airport Hwy (this gas station is always overpriced; how do they do it? all the other gas on Airport today is $3.05). it’s Leap Day today and the song Jump was on the radio. Jump was the #1 song on Leap Day in 1984. 5:42pm… Go ahead… Jump!
On the way back home, couldn’t help but see the same gas station again… $3.19 at 7:15pm… 106.5 on the radio, song lyric from an unknown song/artist “welcome to my world”

I was talking with you in the computer lab about something and made some lame joke and exaggerated the number of something, and said “319 cmyk balloons” or something similar. You stopped me and said, that’s interesting you randomly just said that number. You proceeded to tell me about the coincidences you’ve been encountering… Glad to be a part of the added mystery of it all. Have you ever seen I Heart Huckabees? The plot is based on 3 coincidences (seeing the same random stranger 3 times).
One day I was driving south down 25 to BG. I stopped to help a broken down car, and so did another guy, about my age. Several hours later I passed him on my bicycle outside of Olscamp. We smiled and said Hi! When I pulled up to my apartment, the same guy was walking down my sidewalk (which is NEVER trafficked by foot). We burst out laughing at the absurdity. We couldn’t have repeated that even if we spent weeks plotting it out. 3 times in one day, with hours in between. Haven’t seen him since…
In retrospect I should have stopped him the third time and said “alright, what the hell is going on?”
