
this is the beginning of an experiment… on the next lunar eclipse I will begin w/ the start of the alphabet and create all the glyphs in alphabetical order, so that the shadow’s movement corresponds w/ the order of the letters… often people create typography by shooting on a tripod w/ a light source and camera on a long shutter; this is the inverse of that process

This is such a cool idea. One of those ideas you get jealous of… “Dammit, I would have thought of that eventually, if I really tried…” That kind of thing. Using the moon’s progression throughout the night is just brilliant. Did you think of that during the shoot, or after the fact? I assume you are going to create a serif, mix and sans set with oldstyle and lining numerals correct? And it would be nice to see a set of ligatures and swash alternates as well.
